PLANNING ADVICE

Before travelling to Thailand: your departure checklist

Documents, first accommodation, connectivity, luggage and return: a simple sequence to prepare your trip without leaving everything to the last minute.

Before booking

Check passport, entry requirements and transit countries. Choose areas with the season in mind and count transfers as travel time. Before paying, compare actual airports, included baggage and amendment terms. An enjoyable itinerary leaves room for disruption: do not pair every arrival with a prepaid visit.

Allow enough preparation time

Arrange any pre-travel health consultation with your route available. Read policy terms, exclusions and assistance arrangements before purchase. For driving, drones or particular medicines, verify the specific requirements with the relevant authorities before bringing or hiring anything. A generic packing list does not resolve these cases.

Luggage and the first night

Pack light clothes, suitable clothing for religious sites, footwear for your activities and rain protection for the season. Follow your carrier’s rules for liquids, batteries and luggage. Save accommodation name, address, check-in time and airport transfer. With children or access needs, confirm the required arrangements with the property in advance.

In the final days and before returning

Submit TDAC within the official window, check confirmations and save offline copies. Prepare connectivity and more than one payment method. Reread official travel advice before departure. For the return, check terminals, time from port or base and buffers between separate tickets: the last ferry day is not always suitable for an intercontinental flight.
