PLANNING ADVICE
Accessible Thailand: what to verify before booking
Rooms, transport, attractions and assistance: concrete questions to assess accessibility throughout your route.
Describe what you need
Accessible means different things to different people. List your needs: step-free routes, wheelchair space, adapted bathrooms, boarding assistance or understandable information. Seek concrete confirmation for every point rather than relying on a booking-site label.
Check the whole transport chain
Check the route from airport to room and room to visits. A hotel lift does not solve boarding steps or an unsuitable vehicle. For mobility devices or batteries, contact the carrier before booking and follow its current instructions. Ask about the return route if an access point closes.
Questions for hotels and operators
Request recent photos, relevant measurements, entrance steps, bathroom features and assistance arrangements. For an outing, check surfaces, changes in level, facilities and ways to end the visit early. Ask for written confirmation and any dedicated-service charges. Our place card is not an accessibility certification.
Choose fewer, well-checked bases
Prioritise bases where accommodation, meals and activities are demonstrably reachable. One fewer visit may make the day more comfortable. Arrange any health plan or personal assistance with qualified professionals and your insurer before departure, including a change of accommodation or route.
