Choose a stay rather than an island checklist

Compare Koh Lanta with other Andaman bases for unhurried beach days. One stay leaves space to explore another bay and rest. Avoid a one-night stop purely because the island appears close to another on an itinerary.

The beach shapes your base

Compare Klong Dao and Long Beach for beach-and-service options; consider areas farther south for quiet. Before booking, check access to restaurants and other visits. Do not make a scooter the default transport plan: first determine whether riding is suitable and permitted for you.

Four days as a starting point

We suggest four full days to alternate beach time, Old Town and a carefully chosen outing. Boat trips depend on conditions and availability: avoid filling every day with another excursion. Arrival and departure can take a substantial part of the day.

Check the season and connection

Compare land and sea transfer options for your dates and check ticket inclusions. Sea routes do not all follow the same annual schedule. For an onward flight from Krabi or Phuket, leave a buffer rather than relying on the last possible connection.

Your base first. Your visits next.
